  • Show how to create an activity page, how to add the pictures collected onto the page and link them to the websites they are matched to

Pre-requisite Knowledge:

  • Basic SMART Notebook skills
  • Maryland State Common Core Standards
  • List of educational websites and pictures from Day 1

Warm-Up:

Introduce the video "How to Create Interactive Exercises Using Lesson Activities" found in the Links and Resource section. This will explain what the activity tool bar has to offer.

Talk about how today we will be exploring SMART file's tool bar to learn how to make multiple interactive pages that they can use on their SMART board or if they have them available within their school transfer them to the SMART table.

Procedure:

Talk about how we are going to create our own SMART Notebook files.

Creating SMART File Pages

Have the teachers practice with SMART Notebook and explore with the different types of games and tools that the advance tool bar has to offer. This will allow them to see what they are comfortable with creating and if some of their ideas they want to come up with can even be possible. We do not want to waste time on the Active Day trying to work with can actually be done.

After awhile have the teachers watch this video about the Activity Page and how it can be created with the list created from the first day of the workshop.

Creating Student Activity Page

Have the teachers watch the video "GW Preschool/ECSE Students Use SMART Table" video located in the Links and Resource section. This is something for teachers who do not have SMART Tables available to them to see how they can be beneficial to their school and their classroom.

Have the teachers explore with the basic features of the SMART Table and some pre-loaded files that have already been uploaded to the table so they can begin to get ideas on what they are going to make for their classroom on the Active Day.

Wrap Up:

Go back over everything we have talked about through the last 3 days of the workshop. Have the teachers make sure everything they need for the pages are saved onto their zip drive. Make sure they are ready to work on the different types of pages for the SMART Board and also SMART files that can be used on a SMART Board or on a SMART Table.
